What is EKP?
| EKP
is Emotional-Kinesthetic Psychotherapy, a heart-centered, body-centered
psychotherapy method Linda Marks developed and has taught and practiced
for nearly twenty years. Working with the heart, touch with permission,
the wisdom of the body and the intuitive guidance of the spirit, EKP
creates a special sense of intimacy that deeply touches and transforms
most all who participate.
Participants can be "client," witness
or helper as an individual group member has a "turn" to do deeper
heart-centered, body-centered psychospiritual work in the center. Since
the electromagnetic field of the heart extends out 10 - 12 feet from our
bodies, as we go deeper and open our hearts, we are all touched.
EKP
helps restore our capacity as organs of perception. The skin is our
largest organ, and a source of soul deep knowing, perception and
expression. When our hearts and hands can work as one, we move beyond
defenses safely and respectfully and find freedom, connection and
expression.
COMMUNITY AS HEALER
Friday August 5 8:30 - 10 pm
at the home of Margaret Arndt and David Sneickus
This
evening workshop provides an opportunity for you to be part of a
healing community. Using EKP, you will have a chance to literally "lend a helping hand," and experience the power of the heart that comes with literally "reaching out to touch someone," with permission, as part of a healing team.
Emotional
safety is the foundation of EKP. When we are emotionally safe, we are
more aware of feelings, sensations and deeper thoughts in our bodies and
hearts. You will have a chance to listen to and care for your heart as
you help create and hold a safe healing space for everyone's heart.
Experience what we mean when we say that in EKP, "when anyone has a turn, everyone has a turn."

Letting People Matter
|
Have you ever
experienced a relationship where your partner said again and again that
s/he loved you, yet left easily, and in a heartbeat without looking
back? This kind of experience leaves the one left behind feeling
confused,
hurt, angry, shocked and just plain displaced.
If a loved one is able
to leave that easily without remorse, it suggests that they were not
entirely attached to their loved one. If someone is truly emotionally
attached to a loved one, they cannot just leave in the blink of an eye.
Leaving would create great pain, and a sense of profound loss that they
can anticipate emotionally, and as a result, they are far more
motivated to work through emotional difficulties to make a relationship
work.

Pioneering Souls l |
For
visionary thinker Barbara Marx-Hubbard, her 80's appear to be a decade
where her work is having an even greater impact than it did in her 30's,
40's, 50's, 60's or 70's. Marx Hubbard is trying to gather together
people she identifies as "pioneering souls," spiritual social pioneers,
to help create the social transformation needed to address the serious
systems failures we are facing today and tomorrow. Pioneering
souls are people who can see and take action outside of society's
existing (and failing) structures. Rather than trying to fix what does
not work or is stuck, these spiritual social pioneers are more
interested in creating new structures entirely. They are interested in
designing ways of living, working and organizing that will create a
healthier, more sustainable world.
While
it is lonely and often isolating to be a visionary in a vacuum, when
pioneering souls find each other and build a community, great things are
possible. Much like Lynn McTaggart's revelations in The Bond
(see the next article in this newsletter), Marx-Hubbard believes the
power for change rests in the collaboration and relationships of people,
rather than in their sole efforts against old, stuck, monolithic
structures.
Marx-Hubbard
believes it is our job to lead the conscious evolution of the human
species. Our "human software needs an upgrade," and to help us make
that upgrade, she has put together the Agent of Conscious Evolution
Training, (ACE), a 12 week course, beginning August 9th

,Our Bond of Interconnectedness
|
In her book, The Bond,
Lynn McTaggart suggests that it is the relationships between
objects--be they atoms or people--that make all the difference. Life
happens in the "spaces inbetween." Here are some points she makes: * Subatomically, there is no such thing as an individual thing
* Our bodies are created through so many complex interactions
with our environment that they cannot be considered to exist
independently
* We understand actions of others by simulating the entire
experience from a personal vantage point as though it were happening to
us

My first blog at www.heartspacecafe.com/blog
will still be active, but it is built in forum software, which many
people find more cumbersome to use than official "blog" software. In an effort to cultivate more dialogue in more contemporarily relevant ways, my new blog at HealingHeartPower.blogspot.com is user friendly, and even something you can subscribe to. Please let me know what you think of this new blog. |
