To see me speaking about "The Power of the Heart" on Body, Mind and Spirit, one of the new tv shows developed by TV For Your Soul, Click here

On Friday, August 5, David Sneickus and Margaret Arndt home in Newton was delightful! We are doingwill host a As Healer evening in Newton.    David is a wonderful macrobiotic chef, so nourish your body and your heart! For more information contact msarndt@verizon.net

The monthly Sunday afternoon Community As Healer gathering will next meet in Newton on  July 17.   Together we can create safe healing space in the larger world, and  empower people to literally, "lend a helping hand."

To help raise the visibility of EKP, I have established a new HealingHeartPower meetup group.  To join our meetup group....

I have created a new Community As Healer group on Facebook, for people who want to be part of or support this healing work.  http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Community-As-Healer/192746177418410

The Sunday night EKP therapy group seeks new members.  It is a wonderful way to do deep healing work in a safe, community space, and work on vision and goals as well.  We are taking the summer off while we gather a few new members.

You can also "like us" on our HealingHeartPower  Facebook page. By "liking us", you will be notified whenever a new blog post is published.

What is EKP?
EKP is Emotional-Kinesthetic Psychotherapy, a heart-centered, body-centered psychotherapy method Linda Marks developed and has taught and practiced for nearly twenty years. Working with the heart, touch with permission, the wisdom of the body and the intuitive guidance of the spirit, EKP creates a special sense of intimacy that deeply touches and transforms most all who participate.

Participants can be "client," witness or helper as an individual group member has a "turn" to do deeper heart-centered, body-centered psychospiritual work in the center. Since the electromagnetic field of the heart extends out 10 - 12 feet from our bodies, as we go deeper and open our hearts, we are all touched.

EKP helps restore our capacity as organs of perception. The skin is our largest organ, and a source of soul deep knowing, perception and expression. When our hearts and hands can work as one, we move beyond defenses safely and respectfully and find freedom, connection and expression.

COMMUNITY AS HEALER

Friday August 5  8:30 - 10 pm

at the home of Margaret Arndt and David Sneickus

This evening workshop provides an opportunity for you to be part of a healing community.  Using EKP, you will have a chance to literally "lend a helping hand," and experience the power of the heart that comes with literally "reaching out to touch someone," with permission, as part of a healing team.

Emotional safety is the foundation of EKP.  When we are emotionally safe, we are more aware of feelings, sensations and deeper thoughts in our bodies and hearts.  You will have a chance to listen to and care for your heart as you help create and hold a safe healing space for everyone's heart.  Experience what we mean when we say that in EKP, "when anyone has a turn, everyone has a turn."

For many people, their animal companions, cats, dogs, rabbits, birds and others, are their longest and most intimate relationships.  They are truly our everyday angels, offering unconditional love, companionship and comfort through good times and bad.  Our animal companions are great listeners and playmates, help us heal and live longer, and are often an emotional anchor for both children and adults.

In this service, through words and music, we will share stories about our special connections with the animals in our lives.  Other than human animals are welcome, as long as they can comfortably share space in the chapel--be it on a leash, on a lap or in a crate.

"So many channels, so little on." Have you ever felt that way as you skipped through the guide function on your tv?  Executive producer Marie Manning has been working to provide real television nourishment in an age of "empty viewing calories" and "junk food for the spirit."  TV For Your Soul offers meaningful alternatives to voyeuristic, competitive, reality tv putting people up against one another in awkward situations.

"All of our shows have positive, uplifting content," reflects Marie.  Programs include:  "Body, Mind and Spirit," "Empowering Women," "Contributions to Earth," Room of Ones Own" and "Wedding Essentials."  Two shows in the works are "Everyday Goddesses" and "Celebrity Charities."

"We wanted to raise the quality of what people are getting on tv," acknowledges TV For Your Soul Executive Director Martha Kilcoyne.  "People deserve to have an opportunity to hear messages that can help them rise out of the cultural norm, and not in the context of people fighting on a talk show because it gets good ratings."

In the human world, there is Dear Abby and Ann Landers and even Miss Manners.  What might advise be like if it were written through the eyes of a dog?  Humans can use all the help they can get, so who better to turn to than "man's best friend."

Ask Curtis:  Dog-Sense Advise from Curtis the Dog offers canine wisdom to inquiring dogs, cats and humans too, sprinkling in clever quotes ("If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the principal difference between a dog and a man."--Mark Twain) and even meaningful information about dogs (begging, chocolate, working dogs....) and the human-dog relationship (dogs of divorce, children's fears of dogs...).  Curtis' human, Dan Gersten, helped make this literary pup find find his audience, if not his voice.

My first blog at www.heartspacecafe.com/blog will still be active, but it is built in forum software, which many people find more cumbersome to use than official "blog" software.

In an effort to cultivate more dialogue in more contemporarily relevant ways, my new blog at HealingHeartPower.blogspot.com is user friendly, and even something you can subscribe to.
Please let me know what you think of this new blog.
